Dr. Zocco's specialties include Mitral Valve Repair, Adult Acquired Cardiac Disease and Off-Pump Surgery. Dr. Zocco received a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. During his post-graduate training at the Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Zocco completed his residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery and his Fellowship in Peripheral Vascular Surgery. He was an assistant professor of cardiac surgery at Tufts University Medical Center and a recipient of the I.A. Bigger Surgical Award from the MCV Department of Surgery. As Cardiovascular Surgery Medical Director for the Levinson Heart Hospital at CJW Medical Center, Dr. Zocco works closely with the hospital to monitor and maintain the excellent quality of the cardiac surgery program. Dr. Zocco serves as a member of the Board of Directors for CJW Medical Center; he is a past president of the Richmond Metro Area American Heart Association and a former Board member of The Community Foundation and the Richmond Academy of Medicine.
